Frequently Asked Questions

 

  • What process employee needs to follow to make contribution to NPS Account?

Employee can contribute towards NPS directly by clicking on the ‘Contribute Now’ button, as per the respective CRA – Kfintech, Protean or CAMS. Contribution can be made for both Tier I and/or Tier II through this link.

  • Can I go ahead and contribute voluntary contribution in NPS through the monthly SIP option? 

 Employee can also set a SIP for a systematic regular contribution by clicking here.

  • Is there any restriction on frequency of contribution?

 You can contribute as often as you like. There are no limits on the frequency of your voluntary contributions. You can choose to contribute monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, annually or even set up a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) for automated contributions.

  • Can a corporate employee contribute over and above his/her employer contribution in Tier I?

 Yes, the employee can contribute over and above his/her employer contribution in Tier I.

  • Does the criterion of minimum annual contribution requirement for Tier I account includes employer contribution as well?

Yes. All contributions deposited in Tier I account – either by Employee or by Employer will be counted in order to arrive at Rs.1000 contribution criteria.

  • Can employee increase or decrease the contribution amount in subsequent years?

 Yes, Employees have the flexibility to adjust their contribution amount in subsequent years for Tier I accounts. This allows you to adapt your contributions based on your changing financial circumstances. You can increase the amount to boost your retirement savings or decrease it if necessary, as long as you meet the minimum annual requirement of Rs. 1,000 (combined employer and employee contributions).
